India and the Krasnodar Region signed a memorandum of cooperation

On October 4, 2021, a meeting with representatives of the Russian information center in India was held at the Department of Investments and Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses.

The main topic of discussion was the intention of a film company from Chennai (Tamil Nadu, southern India) to shoot a film in Russia, in particular in the Krasnodar Region. They were interested in such locations as Krasnaya Polyana, the seaport of Sochi, Olympic Heritage, and many parks in Sochi, which allow shooting films even in late autumn.

With the approval of all the objects under consideration, shooting a film is scheduled for late October – early November 2021.

A memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnodar Region and the Russian Information Center in India was signed at the meeting. On the part of the Russian Information Center in India, the memorandum was signed by Mr. Paresh Ishwar Nawani.

- I am sure we will have a long-term and reliable cooperation. This is because cooperation between our countries has been actively developing in recent years. The foreign trade turnover between the Krasnodar Region and India in 2019 amounted to $221.7 million (about 2% of the total trade turnover of our region). The film industry has every chance of becoming a new promising area of our economic cooperation, Vasiliy Vorobyov, the Head of the Department of Investments and Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in the Krasnodar Region, said.

The Russian Information Center (RIC) in India is an organization that engaged in the Russian and Indian cultural exchange and the promotion of bilateral cultural and tourism projects.
